Michelle supports the operations and effectiveness of strategic opportunities and assists investment teams with the shared funding opportunity and advisory council initiatives.
Michelle is passionate about serving children and families in public education. She began her career as a teacher at Brooklyn Prospect in New York through a Walton Family Foundation-funded program designed to grow a pipeline of teachers of color. In 2018, she moved to New Orleans to teach at Bricolage Academy. After leaving the classroom, she worked in operations and finance at New Schools for New Orleans. Most recently, Michelle served as Chief of Staff for Wilcox Academy, where she supported a rapidly expanding network of early learning centers and helped launch a historic partnership with Southern University at New Orleans.
Michelle holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in teaching from New York University. She was a 2024 Public Policy Fellow with the Urban Leaders Fellowship, where she worked with School Board Member Ethan Ashley to develop policy guidance on centralized services for the Orleans Parish School Board.
Originally from Connecticut, Michelle lived in New York City for seven years before moving to New Orleans for some much-needed sunshine. She enjoys taking long walks in City Park and catching $6 movies at the Broad Theater.
