Maggie Andrews leads the development team at NewSchools, helping to connect people, ideas, and capital to build an education system that keeps its promise to all students. As a recipient of grants and scholarships that made her own education possible, Maggie is passionate about ensuring that funding flows to support innovators, students, and communities that are furthest from opportunity.
Prior to NewSchools, Maggie led the fundraising efforts at the youth writing network 826 National, as well as the individual giving team at Teach For America-Bay Area. Maggie has spent the past 20 years working with committed donors and board members to match their philanthropic interests and talents to drive impact in the nonprofit sector. She has worked with educational and artistic organizations nationwide, all focused on amplifying the brilliance and creativity of our nation’s young people.
Maggie received her M.A. in Administration from Boston University and a B.A. in English from Dickinson College, where she was also the 2015 Cogan Fellow. She serves on the board of San Francisco’s Center for New Music and was a former judge for the Oakland Youth Poet Laureate Competition. She lives in Alameda, California, with her family.
