Ana Leon Santos is an Associate Partner on the Equitable Investing team at NewSchools. Her responsibilities include managing the organization’s funding opportunities and community engagement strategy.
Before her current role, Ana led research projects examining the impact of socioeconomic disparities on child development. She began her career in early childhood development at Columbia University, where she completed a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Education. At Columbia, Ana led a national study investigating the relationship between poverty reduction and brain development. Following this, she managed research and mentoring initiatives at the National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families and the Columbia Population Research Center.
Originally from Puerto Rico, Ana now lives in D.C. Outside of work, she enjoys playing recreational volleyball and exploring the city with her dog, Nilo.
