Yazmin Guzman (she/her) specializes in data analysis, research, and community advocacy with a focus on education and economic equity. Prior to joining NewSchools, she was the manager of research and data at the Postsecondary Commission (PSC), an aspiring outcomes-focused accreditor. At PSC, she built the organization’s research and data analytics capabilities from the ground up and developed models to measure the economic outcomes of higher education.
Yazmin began her career as a community organizer in Yonkers, New York, where she helped lead a successful effort to pass an affordable housing ordinance. She completed her master’s in educational research as a Gates Scholar at the University of Cambridge and her master’s and bachelor’s degrees in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Yazmin lives in Wichita, Kansas with her family and cat, Fang. She has a passion for travel, music, and literature. She enjoys exploring new destinations and cultures, discovering artists like Magdalena Bay and Caroline Polachek, and is always on the lookout for book recommendations to add to her reading list.
