As the Manager of Development, Cecilia oversees grant reporting and takes the lead in crafting proposals, serving as the main writer for the development team.
Cecilia has spent the past decade supporting arts and education organizations committed to elevating the voices, perspectives, and experiences of underrepresented communities. Prior to joining NewSchools, she honed her fundraising and storytelling skills at Summer Search, 826 National, The Studio Museum in Harlem, and International Center of Photography. She also spent two years in Japan and the Czech Republic, teaching English as a second language to toddlers, scientists, and everyone in between.
Cecilia holds a B.A. in English and photography from the University of Florida and an M.A. in nonprofit arts administration from New York University. In her free time, you’ll find her exploring Bay Area parks and beaches with her husband and son.
